Blog #3: Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s words or ideas without correctly stating their contributions. By doing so, even by mistake, students, writers, journalists, and scholars can be strongly punished. Thus, it is extremely important to prevent plagiarism. There are multiple ways to approach a good work with honesty; one of them - and I would say the very essential one - is by creating a working bibliography in which you record all the sources you consulted to write your work. Another useful way to prevent plagiarism is by paraphrasing or summarizing, which mean you can use someone else’s statements but in a different way, either with your own words or in a more condensate form. Therefore, plagiarism is a dangerous move to any writer and it can (and should) be avoided by the use the many different resources.
